If your Cardiologists is trying to talk you into an open-heart-surgery and makes any reference to it being palliative, ask him/her to explain in detail. And, many of providers (doctors, PA's, and NP's) are lining his/her pockets and adding "prestige" to his/her reputation when referring you to various hospices offering no end of life expertise, little to no support-often time your nurse swings by merely to take your blood pressure and drop off supplies.
